Hearing Instrument Specialist, National Board Certified
Dan is descended from pioneers. His 3rd great grandfather was Captain Daniel Matheny who brought his family to Oregon in the Great Migration wagon train in 1843.
"Captain Daniel served in the war of 1812, and as a Lieutenant with Abraham Lincoln in the Black Hawk war. He earned his Captain rank in a disturbance in Missouri. He established the Wheatland Ferry on the Willamette north of Salem. The ferry is still in operation. I had a fellow tell me once that it was nice that I had a ferry named after me, but he'd rather it was a bridge."
Dan was born in Oregon, raised on a farm near Halsey, and graduated from high school at The Dalles. He attended Oregon State University, and was drafted during a work break from college in 1966. He joined the Air Force, and is now retired from a service career of over 22 years. He and his wife, Nancy have 4 children and 10 grandchildren.
In 1990 Dan began fitting hearing aids with Beltone in Missouri, before retiring from the Air Force and returning home to Oregon. He loved the fulfillment of bringing better hearing to people who couldn't fully take part in life because they couldn't hear well enough. He has been a board certified hearing instrument specialist for many years, and constantly seeks to discover new advances in technology and technique to enhance your hearing.
